An experienced mother at my church shared with me a great discipline that she has taught her 5 kids. It's "blanket time." We're teaching Micah this discipline and he seems to actually look forward to blanket time for the first few minutes. We're working on longer periods of time but lately, we've been having Micah stay on the blanket while we're cooking or doing dishes..it's so helpful. It's really funny when he scoots all the way to the edge and just looks longingly at the floor hoping for a bit of freedom....or when he actually enjoys himself on the blanket and then he makes eye contact with us and remembers that we're making him stay on the blanket while we're doing other things. It's been a really good discipline for him and I'm thankful for women with lots more experience with me giving great ideas that will definitley help our family..and give us some peace during meal time prep or cleanup!
