Food

And this my friends is the meat department at Walmart. I'm definitely considering becoming a vegetarian!

If you can't tell, the picture above is baby pigs, to the left of the baby pigs were chicken feet..anybody hungry? :)

This is our hotel while in Beijing...1.5 more weeks left!

What do you know..there is an IGA right down the road. I don't remember the IGA in Coats looking anything like this one!

Life in China....so...people in China don't have large refrigerators and grocery stores don't have much in the frozen section. Everyone buys things fresh here..which is great. So, instead of planning meals out a week at a time (like I tried to do at home), you basically, wing it depending on what's at the market each day. Things here take much more time than in the US..just think about it..we have no car, we have a tiny fridge (in the hotel) and we have no room for storage, so almost daily, we go to the food stands, restaurants (cause we definitely can't cook in this hotel room) and the grocery store. Instead of going to one store for everything, we go to one store for water and milk/yogurt, we go to different food stands for different fruits, and we go to many different restaurants to get variety. When we get to our city and buy meat, we will buy it from yet another market. Since we don't have a car, we'll probably buy one day at a time..why..cause we don't have room to "stock up"...we have lots to learn but what we are learning is that it is just going to take more time. The benefits that you don't have in the US..our food is fresh! More food pics to come!!
